Challenge. Grow. Lead.

The future for the young — holistic mentoring for first-generation students of color.

Young Summit

Building great minds through peers

We exist across colleges to develop and connect first-generation students through mentoring, physical and spiritual training for current and future successes as they move through life.

Most people need guidance in their journey through life, and The SUMMIT makes sure to provide that for students who need it. All it takes is to make yourself known — and The SUMMIT will do the rest.

Dr. Kevin Muchiri has long recognized a critical gap in mentorship on college campuses, particularly for first-generation students of color who often navigate their academic and professional journeys without the guidance, networks, or support they need to thrive.

This challenge persists today, leaving countless students at a disadvantage. Understanding that mentorship is a game-changer, Dr. Muchiri created The SUMMIT—a holistic mentoring program designed to empower students beyond academics, equipping them with leadership, resilience, and career readiness necessary for long-term success.

The need has never been greater, and The SUMMIT exists to meet it.
